LUCAS COUNTY, OH (WTOL) – Officials say says property tax collections are showing signs of improvement in Lucas County.

In fact, the Lucas County Treasurer's Office has already received $258 million worth of tax payments for the first half 2010.

That is $3 million higher compared to the previous tax cycle 6 months ago, but those figures do include $20 million worth of delinquent payments.

The deadline for property owners in Lucas County to pay their first half 2010 real estate tax bills was Jan. 31.

For those who have not yet paid their tax bill, Thursday is the deadline to make those payments with a 5 percent penalty. The late payment penalty goes up to 10 percent Friday.

Payment plans are available for folks who are late paying their tax bills in Lucas County. Call the treasurer's office at 419-213-4305 for more information.
